Visualization of Unemployment Rate in California

Based on the statistics published on the Website of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, I have created a graphic to show the unemployment rate in the State of California from Nov. 2008 to Dec. 2011. I have selected this data because California is one of largest states with the country’s highest unemployment rate, after Nevada. This fact may explain why many graduating students in California or around the country have been struggling to find jobs. But the time the economy is going better; I do hope that private sector will be able to create more jobs. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the higher State of unemployment rate is Nevada.

This graphic will just be a huge souvenir of what happened during the current period of economic hardship. It is important to present this data graphically as it is one of the most readable, simple, understandable and powerful tools in the field of visual communication.
